Friday December 19th / Holiday Break

I'm sure many hopes were answered as you awoke to the news that Friday was a snow day!

Now ...
Over a week has passed since then, and while many of you had good intentions to get some work done over the break, if you haven't started yet, you should do so very soon.

So, here are a few reminders by class:

SNC 2D
Our big Motion Unit test was scheduled for the 19th and as mentioned, if a snow day were to occur, the test would be moved to Tuesday January 6th. You do have one day back at school to review but as discussed, that will not be enough for you to be fully prepared. Look at previous posts for review questions and make sure you have completed all assigned worksheets.

SNC 3M
Some of you still have to write the Blood unit test.
Many others have assignments still to hand in. Drop That Blood, and Angle That Blood Drop are examples.

SNC 1P (See Dec. 8 post for viewing activities or read below).
1. Orion viewing assignment:
View Orion one evening. Draw relative to a fixed point on the ground. Draw Orion again 30 mins. to 2 (or more) hours later. Use Astrolab to include angle of "height" in the sky.
2. Moon viewing activity:
Beginning with the next clear night, draw the shape and position of the moon relative to a fixed point on the ground at the same time each night for 5 nights. If you start in the next couple of days, you will want to look just as it gets dark or shortly after. Looking at the weather forecast, tomorrow would be a good night to start! Remember to look at the same time each night!
3. Element Project for a few people who did not hand it in when due.

Enjoy the rest of the holiday!!
