- Lab Activity: "Pull That Tape". Related homework: Complete Observation Chart. For position, measure the distance from the first dot "time zero" to every sixth dot after the first. (Every sixth dot represents 0.1 seconds). Displacement numbers will be the same as position because our starting position is zero. For velocity, use: velocity = displacement/time.
