- Make predictions as to how many electrons various elements will gain or lose, and what resulting ion they will form.
Ex: Lithium, sodium, or potassium will lose one electron and become +1,
beryllium, magnesium, or calcium will lose two electrons and become +2,
fluorine, chlorine, or bromine will gain one electron and become -1
oxygen or sulfur will gain two electrons and become -2
