2. Activity: Triangluation using Parallax - Determining the distance to an object using parallax and a scale diagram. This relates to how astronomers can find the distance to a star (works for only the closest stars). Earth is 2AU apart at a time interval of 6 months so 2AU can be used as a baseline.
3. Assigned work: Read 8.6, do p. 333 # 1-7

2. Activity: Use an electroscope to observe that light coming from a fluorescent bulb is different than light coming from the Sun. Extension: We can learn about stars (including what they are made of) just by analysing the light coming from them (without having to go there).
