(Ionic vs Covalent Compounds) - Part 1 - determining common properties of ionic and covalent molecules: Ionic compounds tend to have high melting points, conduct electricty and are more likely to be hard and odourless. Covalent compounds have lower melting points and do not conduct electricity and are more likely to be soft and have an odour.) Discussion: Theory behind the differences in melting points.
